The Queens are dreaming BIG!

I were proud to partner with the Executive Office of the Chief of Police and the 6th District Outreach Team for our monthly “The Queens” Mentor Group!

This month, the girls focused on sexual education, healthy relationships, and setting goals for the future through interactive activities, open conversations, and vision boards.

The afternoon wrapped up with a healthy meal, meaningful conversations, and sharing their dreams for what’s ahead.

We’re proud to help these young women dream big, know their worth, and believe in their future!

Back to School Essentials on Us!

Our Iron Star team partnered with all seven Metropolitan Police Department districts to help 60 local kids get ready to head back to school!

Each child received a backpack filled with school supplies, Chick-fil-A lunch, and a personalized shopping trip alongside an MPD officer or cadet to pick out school uniforms, underclothes, socks, and other essentials.

Full bellies, packed backpacks, and plenty of bright smiles made for a pretty great day. A huge thank you to our MPD partners for helping make back-to-school shopping a little more special for these kids!

🧩 Tufting Together, Growing Together!

Our Iron Star team joined the young creators at Badger Bear Youth Summer Camp for a hands-on tufting project focused on creativity, teamwork, and inclusion!

Campers worked alongside officers to create a heart-shaped rug featuring colorful puzzle pieces for Autism Awareness—learning how to safely use a tufting machine while bringing their design to life.

Staying healthy is about more than just what’s on your plate—it’s about taking care of yourself inside and out.

Our Iron Star team partnered with the 4th District Outreach Team to host a Body Butter Workshop for the seniors at the Bernice Elizabeth Senior Building. While creating their own personalized body butter, officers shared healthy habits and wellness tips, making for an afternoon full of conversation, creativity, and community.

Dancing for Donuts!

We teamed up with the 7th District Outreach Officers to welcome kids and chaperones from Woodland Terrace for a sweet afternoon at the 7th District Police Station. After story time with the district’s command staff, everyone enjoyed custom Sandy Pony donuts—and once they took that first bite, the dance party was officially on! Nothing brings people together quite like good stories, great treats, and a little dancing.

Some moments remind us that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference.

After a frightening incident in the Benning Courts community, our own Arnita Hamilton and her daughter saw children who had just experienced a scary afternoon and chose to stop. While officers worked diligently to secure the scene and conduct their investigation, they handed out ice cream from the back of their car to help bring a few smiles to the neighborhood.

We’re incredibly proud of Arnita for leading with compassion and showing what our Iron Star Foundation is all about—being present for our communities when they need it most. 💙

We were honored to partner with the MPD Cadet Corps to celebrate 35 outstanding 9th-grade graduates from Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School. Together, we served a healthy lunch, shared sweet treats, and recognized the hard work, dedication, and bright futures of these students. Congratulations to all of the graduates and their families on this well-deserved achievement—we can’t wait to see what’s next! ⭐

We’re proud to partner with MPD Victim Services, First District Outreach Officers, Prime Ability Family Bikers, and Dunbar High School students for a Community Bike Ride focused on gun violence prevention and awareness.

Together, we rode through First District neighborhoods, connecting with families, sharing safety resources, and encouraging positive community engagement. Along the route, we provided fresh fruit and snacks to riders before wrapping up the day with pizza and fellowship at the First District Police Station.

Every ride, every conversation, and every partnership helps us build stronger, safer communities. 💙
