This past Saturday, March 7, twenty‑five of our Kappa Leaguers proudly represented the Washington (DC) Alumni Chapter at the 2026 DC Youth Law Day.

Throughout the day, they were introduced to a wide range of careers within the legal and law‑enforcement fields, gaining firsthand exposure to the professionals who help uphold justice in our community. Judges,attorneys, and legal experts shared insights about their roles, educational pathways, and the importance of integrity and service in the justice system.

One of the highlights of the event was a fully interactive mock trial experience. Our Kappa Leaguers stepped into key courtroom roles serving as judges, defense attorneys, prosecutors, and witnesses. They analyzed case details, crafted arguments, examined testimony, and learned how each role contributes to a fair and balanced legal process.

The exercise challenged them to think critically, communicate clearly, and lead confidently in a high‑pressure environment. It was a powerful opportunity for them to see themselves as future advocates, decision‑makers, and community leaders.

Our young men walked away inspired, informed, and even more committed to their journey toward leadership.

*March 1, 2026 induction ceremony for the Washington (DC) Alumni Chapter Guide Right Kappa League marked a powerful milestone as 36 young men were formally welcomed into a program built on leadership, scholarship, and service. In front of families, mentors, and Brothers, each inductee pledged to uphold the values that define Kappa League, signaling their readiness to grow, be challenged, and rise to the expectations of young men preparing for future greatness.

*The event also featured the swearing‑in of the newly elected 2026 officers, whose oaths underscored their responsibility to lead with integrity, accountability, and purpose.

*Together, the induction and officer installation created a ceremony that not only celebrated who these young men are today, but also showcased who they are becoming emerging leaders equipped to excel academically, serve their communities, and carry themselves with distinction as they begin their journey through the Guide Right experience.

Today, the Washington (DC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi’s Guide Right Kappa League Committee partnered with the Washington (DC) Alumni Silhouettes and the Black Nurses Association to serve the residents of Carrol Manor Senior Living Facility as part of our MLK Day of Service initiative.

Our team delivered cards and socks prepared by the young men of our Guide Right Kappa League program, and the Carrol Manor executive staff expressed sincere gratitude for the thoughtfulness and care poured into this effort. Their appreciation was a powerful reminder of the impact our young men can make when they lead with service.

We are proud, we are purposeful, and we are Washington.

Today, the Washington (DC) Alumni Chapter Guide Right Kappa League honored the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a powerful day of service, engagement, and brotherhood joined by more than 70 Kappa Leaguers.

We began the day with a meaningful check‑in, giving our Kappa Leaguers space to share how they’re doing academically and highlight recent accomplishments. From strong grades to personal wins, it was a chance to celebrate progress, offer support, and reinforce the importance of staying focused as young leaders.

Our young men then wrote heartfelt letters to residents of local nursing homes. These messages, paired with donated toiletries, will be delivered to remind our elders that they are valued, remembered, and cared for.

After completing their service project, the Kappa Leaguers shifted into friendly competition with a lively round of Kahoots featuring questions on Black history, sports, videos, and sneakers mixing learning with fun in true Kappa League fashion.

To close out the day, the group attended the Morehouse vs. Howard basketball game, where Howard secured the win in an exciting matchup.

It was an action packed, purpose‑driven day that reflected exactly who we are: young men training for leadership and strengthening our commitment to service, scholarship, and community.

Thank you to all the Brothers who assisted with today at the House and at the game!!! We do this together!!!

Today’s Kappa League College Success Series, was a powerful full‑circle moment as several of our alumni returned to share honest, practical insight about their transition from high school to college.

They spoke openly about the freedom and responsibility that come with college life, emphasizing the importance of strong time management, staying organized, and building routines that support academic success.

They also broke down financial management with focusing on budgeting, distinguishing needs from wants, and using campus resources wisely. Most importantly, they reminded our current Kappa Leaguers to stay grounded in their values, choose their circle wisely, and remain true to who they are no matter the environment.

Their experiences and transparency offered a blueprint for navigating the next chapter with confidence, discipline, and integrity, showing our current Kappa Leaguers what leadership looks like beyond graduation.

Yesterday, the WAC Kappa League participated in the MMM 30th anniversary peace commemorative walk across the Anacostia River via 11th Street. It was a memorable event for our KL and the Washington (DC) Community.
