Hungary Foundation is proud to announce the Michael Kováts Drawing Competition for young artists in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America.

We invite children in two age categories — ages 3–8 and ages 9–14 — to participate in this exciting and creative challenge. 🎨✏️

Winning prize: Airline Tickets to Hungary and back!

The Michael Kováts Memorial Committee will host a public exhibition of selected submissions in September, showcasing the creativity and talent of our young participants.

🎨 FINAL REMINDER: Young artists have just a few days left to enter the Michael Kováts Drawing Competition to win a round trip transatlantic flight! ✈️

Children ages 3–14 are invited to create an original drawing inspired by Michael Kováts—the Hungarian hero of the American Revolution and a founding figure of the American cavalry tradition.

🏆 Grand prize in each age category: a round-trip airline ticket between Budapest and Philadelphia
👧 Ages 3–8 and 9–14
📅 Extended deadline: September 1, 2026
📧 Send artwork to [email protected] with the artist’s name, age, and contact information.

Selected entries will also be featured in a public exhibition in Washington, DC this fall. Original, child-created artwork only; submissions produced with AI assistance will not be accepted. All mediums welcome.
