Built for the 1946 New York Boat Show — the one that never happened because the war had just ended. This 1945 Gar Wood Commander, a prototype unlike any other, was the only one of its kind. When the show was cancelled, it ended up on the floor of Hearn's Department Store in Manhattan. A father brought his daughter in for winter coats, spotted it, and bought it on the spot. Named "We Three," it has spent eighty years on the same Adirondack lake, winning Best of Show with its original wood — including the bottom — still intact. It's now on the market for the first time in generations.
