The digital transformation is reshaping our democracies and poses new challenges for equality: access gaps, digital violence, and gendered misinformation that limit women's participation in public life.

In the framework of 8M, the OAS Permanent Council commemorated International Women's Day with a session dedicated to reflecting on how to move towards an inclusive, secure, and gender-equal digital transformation in the Americas.

The session was convened at the request of Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, and Uruguay.

The Gallery now features thirteen women whose legacies have shaped the democratic, legal, and social history of the Americas.

🌎 Today, the CIM gathered Delegates, High-Level Authorities, and Representatives from across the Caribbean for a regional meeting focused on amplifying women’s leadership, advancing equality, and building collective strategies for impact.

💜 “Women should never be silent,” said Hon. Minister Virginia Albert-Poyotte, Vice-President of the CIM and Minister for the Public Service, Home Affairs, Labour and Gender Affairs of Saint Lucia, as she spotlighted the region’s bold achievements and priorities.
