The Washington, D.C. Alumnae Foundation, Inc. was established in 1985 by the Washington DC Alumnae Ch It was initiated during the presidency of Olivia V. Beulah T.

was established in 1985 by the Washington DC Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes. Aiken (1983-1984), and established during the presidency of E. Jean Christian (1984-1985). Sutherland was elected the first chairman of the Foundation Board in March 1985. The Foundation was incorporated on August 15, 1985.
