🍎🥕 Changes to SNAP funding could have a serious impact on Georgia families. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💛

Nearly 4 in 10 SNAP participants are children, and new federal changes could shift millions of dollars in costs to the state 💵➡️🏛️—potentially making it harder for families to access the food they need. 🛒🥛🥦

Because of moms, we are called to act.

In June, No Kid Hungry hosted its third annual Bridge Builders Summit 🤝🏽, bringing together partners, philanthropists, advocates and leaders committed to supporting single moms 👩‍👧‍👦—many of whom brought their own lived experience, wisdom and leadership to the conversation. 💬🌟

Centered on the theme “Because of Moms, a New World is Emerging” 🌎🌱, the summit explored how investing in moms can help address the root causes of childhood hunger. 🍎💪

From bold conversations about economic mobility 💼📈 and systems change 🏛️🔄 to a collaborative vision for a Bill of Rights for Moms 📜🧡, attendees left with renewed purpose, stronger partnerships and a shared commitment to building a future where moms and their children can thrive. 🏡✨

☀️ How can schools make SUN Bucks outreach more effective—and sustainable?

Meet Edgar Manalo, Business Services Director for Fullerton Joint Union High School District and a No Kid Hungry SUN Bucks Champion. Through the district’s “More Than a Meal” campaign, Edgar and his team connect SUN Bucks with the broader network of nutrition and financial resources available to families throughout the year.

Their approach shows that effective outreach doesn’t always require creating something new. By integrating SUN Bucks into existing workflows and trusted communication channels—from school newsletters and principal emails to websites, social media and cafeterias—districts can:

📣 Share clear, consistent messages
🤝 Build collaboration and buy-in across departments
🏫 Reach families through trusted school staff
🔄 Create outreach systems that can be sustained year after year

👇 Read Edgar’s story and explore practical strategies your district can use to help more eligible children receive the summer grocery benefits they need.
