DC Chapter Paine College National Alumni Association

06/20/2026

The DC Chapter of the Paine College National Alumni Association made history by hosting its inaugural Juneteenth Banquet—an inspiring evening honoring Black excellence, leadership, and perseverance. The evening featured keynote remarks from trailblazing golf consultant, agent, and author Rose Harper, who highlighted the extraordinary life and legacy of the late Jim Dent, a pioneering Black golfer, PGA Tour champion, and honorary alumnus of Paine College. The event not only celebrated history but also invested in the future, culminating in the presentation of a $10,000 check to Lester McCorn to support the College’s mission and continued growth.
