Founded in 1974, the Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc., (ABC) is a nonprofit organization with an international membership of about 1,800 health professionals, lay members (Community Health Advocates), corporate and institutional members. We are a nonprofit organization with an international membership of 1,500 health professionals, lay members of the community (Community Health Advocates), corporate members, and institutional members, dedicated to eliminating the disparities related to cardiovascular disease in all people of color. Our Mission is to Promote the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease, including Stroke, in Blacks and other Minorities and to Achieve Health Equity for all through the Elimination of Disparities

Heart failure doesn’t start at diagnosis. Its drivers often build for years.

Tomorrow evening in Phoenix, the ABC Heart Failure Committee brings together a multidisciplinary group of experts to look upstream at the cardiometabolic, kidney, genetic, and environmental factors that can precede clinical heart failure, and what earlier intervention could look like in practice.

Research Study Participation Opportunity (REBIRTH STUDY) – Peripartum Cardiomyopathy

The purpose of REBIRTH is to test whether drug called bromocriptine can strengthen the heart in women diagnosed with Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (Heart Failure in Pregnancy) when compared to those not taking the drug while all remain on heart failure medication.
