By lunch on day one you’ll be mid-conversation with someone who runs a team you’d kill to work on. By the sit-down dinner you’ll have a group chat. By day three you’ll already be looking up flights for next year.

Corporate America ghosted Pride. The community didn’t. 🩷

NYC Pride is running on $3.2M this year, down from $4.1M, after losing $750K+ when sponsors pulled their support. And it’s not just NYC. Cities across the country are watching the logos walk.

But here’s the part that matters: queer-owned businesses, individual donors, and the people quietly pushing their own companies to stay are the ones keeping Pride alive.

Pride was never built by brands. It was built by us.

When they pull back, we show up. We always have.

Cool. So is the company down the street. So is the one you just left.

Every employer says it. Almost none of them can show it. So here’s the actual test, swipe through and check your workplace against it.

The rainbow logo isn’t the proof. The logo going rainbow in June and grey on July 1st? That’s the tell.

If the only time your queerness is welcome is the month it’s marketable, that’s not a culture. That’s a campaign.

That’s what all-female founding teams received of total US VC funding in 2024. Down from 2% the year before. The lowest level since 2017.

Meanwhile, female founders generate 78 cents of revenue per dollar invested, 2.5x more than male-founded startups. They burn 15% less capital, exit 6 months faster, and outperform all-male founding teams by 63% over a decade.

The math has never been the problem. The room has. Only 17.3% of VC decision-making roles are held by women, and nearly three-quarters of US VC firms have zero female investing partners.

This is exactly why Summit exists. The investors, founders, and operators rewriting who gets funded will all be in one place on October 5.

Since January 2025, employers have been making quiet calls about DEI. Some held the line. Some trimmed. Most said nothing and hoped you’d stop checking.

So check.

The careers page. The annual report. The ERG budget. The diversity dashboard that used to be there.

Missing data is data. Public memory is shorter than ours.
