✈️ Southwest Airlines is introducing its first-ever airport lounges!

The first locations are expected to open in late 2027 at:

📍 Austin (AUS)
📍 Baltimore/Washington (BWI)
📍 Honolulu (HNL)
📍 Nashville (BNA)

At least seven additional locations are planned in the years ahead.

The lounges will feature locally inspired food and beverages, spaces to work and relax, and other premium amenities. Southwest also plans to introduce a new premium Rapid Rewards credit card in 2027 that will include lounge access.

Another big change for Southwest - and one travelers will be watching.

Great tips from Ironmill Travel LLC on making airport security a little easier! ✈️

✈️ IS TSA PRECHECK WORTH IT? FOR MANY TRAVELERS, ABSOLUTELY.

If you’ve ever stood in a long airport security line watching another line move faster, you’ve probably wondered: Should I get TSA PreCheck?

For travelers who fly with any regularity, TSA PreCheck can take some of the aggravation out of getting through the airport.

With TSA PreCheck, eligible passengers generally do not have to remove their shoes, belts or light jackets, and laptops and compliant 3-1-1 liquids can usually remain inside the carry-on bag during screening.

And the program continues to evolve.

You may now see signs for TSA PreCheck Touchless ID at certain airports. For eligible PreCheck travelers flying participating airlines, Touchless ID uses facial recognition to verify identity at the checkpoint. Travelers must opt in, have a valid passport and TSA PreCheck, and participate through an eligible airline. It is not yet available everywhere.

✅ A few things travelers should know:

• TSA PreCheck membership is valid for five years.
• It is available at more than 200 U.S. airports.
• Your Known Traveler Number (KTN) needs to be entered correctly in your airline reservation or frequent-flyer profile.
• Enrollment is available through TSA-authorized providers, with locations around the country.
• PreCheck makes screening easier, but it does not guarantee a particular wait time or eliminate the possibility of additional screening.

💡 TRAVEL ADVISOR TIP: Once you receive your KTN, don't just save it somewhere and forget about it. Add it to your airline loyalty accounts and make sure it appears on every reservation. When we work with our clients, this is one of those little details that can make a big difference on travel day.

And if you already have TSA PreCheck, keep an eye out for Touchless ID when traveling through larger airports. Airport security is becoming increasingly digital, and knowing what those new signs mean before you arrive can save some confusion.
