For MS Awareness Month, we’re on the ground this week at the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs (NASDVA) Conference in Washington, DC elevating our veterans’ stories and building partnerships.

This month and every month, we’re empowering U.S. veterans grappling with the life-altering impacts of multiple sclerosis (MS). Because no veteran should fight MS alone.

A special thank you to our sponsors and generous donors!

Veterans are trained to fight for others. But no veteran should fight MS alone.

Within weeks of launching our first support group, dozens of veterans from across the country signed up.

The need is clear. And it’s bigger than we imagined.

That’s why we’re heading to NASDVA in March — where veteran leaders and agencies shape services nationwide.

If veterans with MS are asking for support, we have a responsibility to build the partnerships that can deliver it.

Your support helps us show up, strengthen those partnerships, and expand resources for veterans living with MS.

This week, Congress released a bipartisan funding package that restores $15 million for the Multiple Sclerosis Research Program after two years of elimination.

Over the past two years, Veterans MS Alliance worked tirelessly—meeting with congressional offices, advocating in Washington, DC, and helping bring together the National MS Society and Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) behind a unified coalition letter to Congress.

This progress reflects the power of veteran-led advocacy and moves us closer to our mission: ensuring no veteran fights MS alone.

The vote to pass these bills is expected to take place in the House this week and in the Senate during the week of January 26. VMSA will continue to monitor the legislative process and work with our partners on behalf of all veterans living with MS.

A heartfelt thank you to all our supporters, friends, and volunteers who have made these efforts possible! Stay tuned.

This Veterans Day, our founder, Mary Claire Youpel, had the honor of visiting high schoolers across South Chicagoland to engage with students, staff and other veterans to reflect on the importance of remembering our veterans and to share our mission.

Moments like these remind us why our work matters. On Veterans Day, of all days, it's vital that we reflect on the sacrifices and commitment made by all our servicemembers and veterans. Raising awareness of the visible and invisible scars that veterans face is crucially important. With the elevated risk of developing multiple sclerosis, we're here to ensure veterans living with MS receive the care and community they deserve.

Thank you to everyone who took time to honor our veterans. We will continue to raise awareness and fight for veterans living with MS - because no veteran should fight MS alone.
