In her testimony, she highlighted the importance of this legislation for individuals housed in the Department of Corrections, who are currently unable to testify before the Council. The EASE Act would allow individuals in the D.C. Jail to provide testimony, creating meaningful opportunities for civic engagement and ensuring that Councilmembers can hear directly from those most impacted.
