Step away from the noise, spend a few hours outside, and experience one of DC’s hidden natural spaces with a great community.

Join Soul Trak Outdoors and Casey Trees Trees for our Nature Every Month: Urban Forest Hike as we explore the George Washington Carver and Fort Circle Trail, learn about the trees that shape our city, and reconnect with nature together.

No hiking experience is needed. Just bring comfortable shoes, water, and your curiosity.

Right now, our Teen Backpackers are still out there.

They’re waking up in the woods, carrying everything they need on their backs, pushing through challenges, and making memories they’ll carry long after the trail ends.

This Sunday, they’ll come home.

Help us give them the welcome they deserve.

They did it.

After 8 days and more than 40 miles on the Appalachian Trail, our Teen Backpackers are coming home.

Join us as we celebrate an incredible accomplishment and welcome these young explorers back from one of the biggest adventures of their lives.

Come enjoy a free lunch, watch the short films they created for the National Geographic Slingshot Challenge, hear stories from the trail, and celebrate alongside our Soul Trak community. You’ll also have a chance to win some Soul Trak swag and learn more about how you can get involved in future programs.

Eight days. Over 40 miles. One unforgettable journey.

Our Teen Backpackers have spent the past week challenging themselves on the Appalachian Trail, discovering what’s possible when young people are given the opportunity to lead, persevere, and grow in the outdoors.

Now they’re coming home.

Join us as we celebrate their accomplishment with a community lunch, stories from the trail, and the premiere of the short films they created for the National Geographic Slingshot Challenge.

Whether you’ve supported these students from the beginning or are just learning about Soul Trak, we’d love to have you there. Come celebrate what these young people have achieved and see firsthand the impact that outdoor experiences can have.

The outdoors are closer than you think.

This month, Nature Every Month is taking us through one of DC’s hidden gems as we explore the George Washington Carver and Fort Circle Trail alongside our friends at Casey Trees Trees.

Together we’ll learn about the trees that shape our neighborhoods, the history of our urban forest, and why protecting our local green spaces matters. Whether you’re new to hiking or just looking for a reason to get outside, this is the perfect opportunity to slow down, meet new people, and experience a different side of the city.

Before or after the hike, stop by the farmers market at the Anacostia Community Museum to support local vendors and enjoy everything the community has to offer.

Looking for a fun way to spend Father’s Day weekend outdoors?

Join and for a day of fishing, stewardship, learning, and community along the Anacostia River.

Whether you’re a father, father figure, bringing the family, or simply looking to connect with others outdoors, this event is designed to bring people together through shared experiences on the water.

Spend the day learning to fish, exploring the history and ecology of the Anacostia River, creating Father’s Day crafts, participating in a shoreline cleanup, enjoying a free cookout, and connecting with neighbors who care about our parks and waterways.

No fishing experience is needed. Fishing gear, activities, and lunch will be provided.
