There’s something special about learning from someone who’s walked a path that still feels familiar. 💙📚

A huge thank you to our incredible math tutor from George Washington University for sharing why she loves working with FLOC students. Her passion, patience, and ability to connect with our students reminds us that representation and relatable role models matter. When students see someone who isn’t much older than they are succeeding in college, it makes their own dreams feel within reach.

Thank you for investing your time, talent, and heart into our students. Your impact reaches far beyond math. 💛

A special thank you to DCTMI for beautifully capturing and sharing this interview. We appreciate your partnership in helping tell the stories of the amazing people who make FLOC’s mission come to life.

This is what investing in our youth looks like. ❤️

We kicked off the summer with For Love Of Children (FLOC) and a room full of promise, potential, and future leaders. For the next 6 weeks, DC teens will have a safe space to learn, grow, lead, explore careers, strengthen literacy and math skills, earn community service hours, and get paid for their commitment.

Changing the narrative starts with creating opportunities. This is what a REAL TEEN TAKEOVER looks like.

We’re often asked, “How do you recruit your volunteers?”

The answer is simple: We don’t do it alone.

Partnerships make our mission possible, and organizations like play a major role in connecting FLOC with dedicated volunteers who help our students learn, grow, and thrive.

To our friends at congratulations on recruiting 467 volunteers for the month of May and thank you for believing in our work and helping us build brighter futures, one volunteer at a time.
