35 years ago, Eritreans in Washington, DC celebrated a defining moment in history as Eritrea achieved its independence in 1991. 🇪🇷

This Saturday at the ECCC, join Eritrean author and DC native Bsrat Mezghebe for a special conversation on her debut novel, I Hope You Find What You’re Looking For, a story inspired by the experiences of the Eritrean community in DC during the independence era.

Together, we’ll reflect on the memories, sacrifices, and stories that shaped our community, while exploring what it means to search for self and home in the diaspora.
