One in four young people vote by mail across the country — and yesterday, President Trump signed a new executive order to limit that ability. Learn what this executive order includes and what it means for students who cast mail-in ballots. 👉

Remember, executive orders cannot override existing laws. States have the power to run elections, and only Congress has the ability to change nationwide policy on federal elections.

Building a culture of nonpartisan civic engagement on campus takes leadership.

We’re excited to announce the 14 campus leaders of our 2026 Presidents’ Council!

They will lead more than 775 college and university presidents, provosts, and chancellors who have committed to full student voter registration and participation in the 2026 elections.

Higher education leaders have the opportunity to shape the next leaders. We’re so proud to have these presidents join us in our mission to increase voter participation among college students.

Youth voter turnout doesn't happen by accident. It happens because student leaders put in the work.

Liv Antigua, ’s Senior Program Manager, joined civic leaders and student champions at the Tennessee Campus Civic Summit last week and spoke with students about how they’re preparing for 2026. Here’s what she heard:

🤝 Student leaders are looking forward to helping their fellow classmates vote in the midterm elections this year, aiming to increase youth voter turnout!

🔑 Consistency is key: it’s important to not only help students register to vote, but to follow up and give them the nonpartisan tools they need to cast their ballot with confidence (and stay civically engaged after the election, too).

🗳️ In addition to supporting their campus community, young people are excited to make their OWN voices heard at the polls this year!

Thank you to everyone who put this event together, we had a great time talking with Tennessee students about the power of their voice!

Today and every day we honor Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dedication to civil rights and equity.

His words remind us that we are not just voting and engaging civically for ourselves, but for our communities.

With Dr. King in mind, use the power of your position as a campus leader to engage your students in nonpartisan civic efforts today. Encourage young people to take the first step toward a life of civic responsibility by helping them register to vote at allin.vote/register

Last month, the United States Postal Service changed when it will postmark mail. The postmark date has long served as proof of meeting a deadline, like when a ballot is mailed. This change will impact millions of college students who rely on voting by mail.

College students who vote by mail will be impacted by this change in ways like:
🗳️ Needing to mail their ballots even earlier than usual to make sure their ballot will be processed in time

🗳️ Experiencing uncertainty when it comes to the postmarking process, as a voter’s location will impact how long it takes for their mail to be processed

🗳️ They may feel nervous to vote by mail in the future due to this change, especially in states that will be affected by this change the most

As the 2026 midterm elections approach, make sure to inform your students of this change and prepare them to cast their ballots earlier than usual so that they can still make their voices heard on time.

From campus communities across the country showing up to vote to our friends and family supporting us, there’s so much to be grateful for this year.

Thank you to everyone who has worked hard to increase nonpartisan civic engagement and voter participation on college campuses. We couldn’t do our work without the support of campus leaders, students, and our partners.

We hope you have a great Thanksgiving! ❤️
