This World Su***de Prevention Day, we are publishing a new resource about preventing su***de among young people experiencing homelessness. https://f.mtr.cool/7yvsr851pe

Su***de prevention happens every day, not just before, during, and after a crisis. As people who work closely with a young person, service providers are more attuned and can notice changes in thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and appearance. Changes on their own may not be a warning sign, so it is important to talk to that young person to learn more about what they are experiencing. This, combined with considering the frequency, duration, and impact of the changes, will help someone know if they should provide additional support.

There is no single tool that will work in every setting. What matters is developing a clear process with young people for when and how staff screen, what happens when concerns are identified, who responds, and how young people are connected to ongoing support before, during, and after a crisis.

We’re excited to invite Requests for Presentation Proposals (RFPs) for the 2027 National Summit on Youth Homelessness + Hill Day, taking place February 25-26, 2027, in Washington, DC! https://f.mtr.cool/03l8rktupf

The RFP process will identify breakout session speakers. Sessions are 60 minutes in length (including 15 minutes for Q&A) and must align with one of our tracks: For Youth, By Youth; Housing & Services; Innovation; or Executive Leadership. There will also be an Education track, but it is not accepting RFPs.

NN4Y strongly encourages proposals that include or are led by young people with lived expertise of homelessness.

A great new opportunity for youth with lived expertise of homelessness in California! Our partners at Youth and Allies Against Homelessness are accepting applications for a Fall 2026 paid internship to gain meaningful professional experience, develop new skills, and learn more about research and advocacy.

Duration: 7 weeks + final week flexed (will be explained in interviews)
Meeting Times: 8:30 -10:30 AM PST Tuesdays & Thursdays
Format: Remote with multiple in-person opportunities
Eligibility: Youth ages 18-25 with lived experience of homelessness in Alameda, Marin, and San Diego Counties.
Compensation: $30 per hour

Co-hosted with EverFree and Project Hope Alliance, this webinar will explore a practical methodology for youth-centered care and how it works in real-world settings through the Freedom Lifemap (FLM).

Attendees will learn about youth homelessness, what systems they have to navigate to receive essential services, and how FLM supports youth-centered care. Speakers will walk through the self-assessment experience and practitioner tools to show how FLM shifts care planning from provider-directed case management to a collaborative process centered on youth voice to better serve youth experiencing homelessness.
