SAMU Foundation Helping communities in state of emergency around the world🌍 Socially and environmentally responsible ♻️

SAMU Foundation is an international medical and social oriented non-profit organization, based in the District of Columbia. Drawing on 30 years of experience in prehospital emergency care around the world and emergency medical education in Spain, the Foundation, established in 2007, has led or participated in projects to receive and care for unaccompanied migrant minors, help disabled people, to p

rovide health education for adults, in international vaccination campaigns and as a disaster intervention team in afflicted areas. Currently, SAMU Foundation is pursuing an accreditation as an Emergency Medical Team (EMT) with the WHO and certifying the Emergency School as a NAEMT Training Center in order to comply with international humanitarian standards. Nowadays, humanitarian aid has been redirected to adopt a more professionalized approach, for which the UN-WHO have standardized aid interventions using several protocols such as the Classification and Minimum Standards and the Sphere Project. The aim is for aid interventions to be more disciplined and coordinated.

✨ More than a classroom—it’s a place to belong
Escuelita SAMU is where learning becomes hope for children on the move—creating safe spaces where language, identity, and opportunity grow together.

1. 📚 Building literacy in Spanish: We support Hispanic children in learning to read and write in their native language.

2. 🌎 Growing fully bilingual futures: We help children become confidently bilingual, opening doors to better academic performance, stronger communication skills, and greater career opportunities in the future.

3. 🌱 Honoring roots and culture: Through every lesson, we promote pride in their mother tongue while helping children stay connected to their heritage, identity, and cultural traditions.

✨ Because when a child understands who they are and can express it in two languages, their world becomes limitless.

We successfully completed a session at Youth Build Public Charter School continuing the implementation of our Together & Prepared program.

The session was led by psychologist Dra. Claudia Campos and focused on understanding emotions and learning practical strategies to manage them during stressful situations. Through guided activities and discussion, participants strengthened their emotional awareness and resilience—key skills for navigating challenges both in and out of the classroom.
