Amazing event in honor of Men’s Health Month last night with DCNOMA. Our members gathered at Spartan Surfaces to talk, share and highlight their physical and mental health.

This conversation was a reminder that being strong doesn’t mean carrying everything by yourself. Men face real pressures—from work and finances to family responsibilities and expectations around masculinity. It’s okay to talk about stress, ask for help, and lean on your community. Checking in on yourself and the men around you can make a bigger difference than you think. Let’s keep breaking the stigma, one conversation at a time.

A wonderful evening of culture, community, and conversation at DCNOMA’s Taste & Trace: AANHPI Diaspora in Architecture.

Thank you to our panelists, Eleanor Choi, Ahmed Zaman, and Brittney Sooksengdao, for sharing thoughtful reflections on sponsorship, stewardship, mentorship, lived experience, and navigating today’s professional landscape. The conversation highlighted leadership with empathy, preserving cultural legacy, staying connected to one’s homeland, and using your voice to uplift others.

One theme that resonated throughout the evening was hope—especially in seeing the next generation of architects shaping the future of our profession. And of course, attendees enjoyed the incredible diversity of food that celebrated cultures from across Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this meaningful celebration of identity, heritage, and design.
