NATCA in Washington 2026 started off on a high note this year. The Eastern Region was represented by 61 dedicated attendees that put in hard work throughout the week. The primary goals were clear: to advocate for pay parity with the military, and push for the passage of the Mental Health in Aviation Act and the Aviation Medication Transparency Act. The support on Capitol Hill was amazing. Our members engaged in productive meetings all week long.

We also want to extend our congratulations to our two Eastern Region Legislative Award winners, Taylor Warren (Potomac TRACON - PCT) and Giuseppe DePinto (Newark ATCT - EWR), for their remarkable achievements over the past year.

To get more involved legislatively reach out to your Eastern Region Legislative team or FacRep.

NEA Membership,

Archie League nominations end soon. We're asking you to think back over the last year as the time for Archie League nominations has come. The Archie League Award exhibits a variety of aviation “saves”. Some of these “saves” involve a team of controllers working together, while others are the result of one controller’s efforts. This is the chance to recognize our colleagues that remained calm under pressure, handled complex situations well, and were exemplars of our profession. While many will say they were “just doing their job”, this is the opportunity to highlight these controllers!

Nominations are now open for the 22nd Annual Archie League Awards, for the best saves that occurred at your facility between May 1, 2025 and April 30, 2026. Submissions must be received by May 15, 2026. The Awards will be presented to the winners at Communicating for Safety (CFS), which runs September 14-16, 2026 in Las Vegas, NV.
