The Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center (SEEC) is a model museum-based education program with three sites serving children 2 months- 6 years of age.

The Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center is a school with three locations on the National Mall serving infants through kindergartners. In addition to its school, it also offers weekend and weekday family programs and professional development for educators. SEEC is a unique early learning environment that utilizes not only museums, but its entire community. We are dedicated to cultivating a love of learning and sense of wonder in learners of all ages.

Are you ready to move like a duckling and roll like a piglet?

You and your infant investigator are welcome to join us on Sunday, November 8th, 2026, from 10:15 am to 11:15am where Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boyton will be the inspiration for this class. We will explore how animals (and people) move their bodies!

This workshop is intended for ages 0-16 months (once your child graduates (or for a livelier class), come to our Families Together Classes)

One Caretaker + One Child (one additional caretaker is welcome to join for the museum portion of the class)

It’s a dance party!

We are boogying down the aisle celebrating all the visits to the Contemplative Court to calm our minds, Chef Leah’s jacket to learn about cooking, George Clinton’s Mothership to practice dance moves, Chuck Berry’s Red Cadillac to explore it’s bright color, participate in special programming, Venus and Serena to learn about tennis, stop and take selfies on the gold elevator, Mae's Millinery to learn about hat making, try our hand at stepping and Oprah Winfrey Theater to promote our Bears/K classes!
