In furtherance of the PTAB Bar Association’s ongoing commitments, the Women’s, Diversity and Young Lawyers and Agents Committees of the PTAB Bar Association are sponsoring opportunities to attend the 2026 PTAB Bar Association Annual Conference. If you know of someone (or are one yourself) who is unable attend the Annual Conference due to cost or limited capacity at their firm or company, please nominate them, and the PTAB Bar Association will consider the candidate for free registration! (Travel and other expenses are not included.) The Annual Conference will be on March 18-20, 2026, in Washington, D.C. This year’s conference features a session on recent PTAB discretionary practices, with a focus on emerging factors, such as settled expectations and material error. This session will be presented by panelists: Melissa Haapala, Abigail Litow, and Thomas Scott, and moderated by Brian Rosenbloom. The Conference program will continue with a deeper dive into this hot topic in another engaging session addressing the strategic considerations of ex parte reexaminations, including adjusting in the new IPR landscape.
