Three months ago, the The Center for Water Security and Cooperation, in partnership with DigDeep, launched the Community Task Force for Water Equity (CTF). Experts from community-based organizations across the United States came together to boldly imagine how a nationwide water assistance program could be developed to meet the and needs of low-income rural and urban households across America. Today we publish those recommendations to accelerate action and realize universal access to water and sanitation.

Read the recommendations. Sign on and support. Request a meeting to discuss. Act.

The Community Task Force for Water Equity (CTF) was convened by the CWSC, in partnership with DigDeep, to develop recommendations for the development of a National Household Water Assistance Program (NHWAP).

In two weeks, of the 15 statewide water shutoff moratoriums that have been issued, only 6 will remain. Those aren't good numbers.

Since March 2020, only 15 states and the District of Columbia have issued statewide moratoriums on water shutoffs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Statewide moratoriums cover customers receiving water services from both public and private utilities.

Today is the 10th Anniversary of the U.N. General Assembly Declaration of a Human Right to Water and Sanitation. Read our Statement here.

Today is a day to reflect, not celebrate.  Ten years ago, the U.N. General Assembly declared a right to water and sanitation.  This vote, this act of declaring humankind’s most basic need, took over 60 years to come to fruition.  Ten years later, we should not celebrate our successes.  Instead...

Only 13 states and the District of Columbia have issued statewide water shutoff moratoriums in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite prohibiting water shutoffs, they still fall short of putting in the necessary protections that will keep families connected to water.

The CWSC reveals the shortcomings of the statewide moratoriums and identifies what needs to be included.

In this Blue Paper, The Center for Water Security and Cooperation discusses the shortcomings of statewide moratoriums on water shutoffs adopted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
