Are you looking for ways to support your community during challenging times?

La Alianza is partnering with Ayuda for a hands-on volunteer event supporting immigrant individuals and families on Friday, February 13th, at 3:30 PM!

Participants will begin with a brief simulation designed to provide insight into the experiences that many of Ayuda’s clients face. We will then take time to write notes of appreciation before assisting with grocery bag packaging, one of the most frequent needs of Ayuda’s office and food pantry.

In a moment when it can feel difficult to make an impact, this event is a reminder that meaningful change often starts with small, collective acts of care. By showing up together, we can support our community in a tangible and hopeful way.

RSVPs first come, first serve through the registration link in the bio. When signing up, enter the password “howard” at the bottom to gain access. For the safety and privacy of Ayuda’s clients, the event address will be shared after registration is confirmed. Please RSVP by February 11th, and as always, let us know if you have any questions!

Hope to see you there!

La Alianza invites the HUSL community to join us in celebrating Día de los Mu***os at our community altar! 🌼

Día de los Mu***os is a Latine tradition that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed away. It is a time to celebrate their lives with joy, reflection, and gratitude. This is not a religious practice, but rather a cultural tradition that welcomes people of all faiths to honor their ancestors and loved ones.

We encourage everyone to bring photos or mementos of departed loved ones to add to the altar. These offerings are believed to encourage our ancestors to visit and join in the festivities, helping us honor their memory and celebrate the lasting connections we share.

This year, we’re also introducing a Remembrance Book, where community members can write the names of loved ones or share a few words in their memory. Over time, we hope to build and preserve this collective tribute as part of our continuing Día de los Mu***os tradition.

Location: Rhatt
Dates: October 28th-31st

All are welcome to participate and reflect, and we look forward to celebrating this special season with the community 🌼🎉
