MegaCommunity Ward 8 is a united and democratic front through which all can express themselves individually while leveraging our collective will to the holistic benefit of the community. It is designed to be a lean organization with few core staff, low overhead, and highly functioning committees headed by community members, which work in concert with public and private partners. We welcome the res
ources of corporations and government toward supporting the goals and initiatives that we institute in our communities but will not be beholden to them. We look first within our communities and draw from the wealth of talent and experience that already exists. As much as possible we support existing Ward 8 businesses that hire and mentor Ward 8 residents first, and we participate in the creation of new businesses that put Ward 8’s workforce and desired amenities at the heart of their business model. In the future we envision, change will happen with us and through us, not TO us or around us, as has been the case for far too long. This is the purpose of instituting the Ward 8 MegaCommunity at such a critical time in our history. MegaCommunity Ward 8 is a non-partisan, people-centered, and community initiated organization.
