President Trump and Secretary Rollins are elevating what NFU has been saying for decades: monopolization is crushing family farmers and ranchers.

4 companies control the vast majority of meatpacking in this country. That's not a competitive market, it's a chokehold on our family farms.

We need action. Enforce the Packers and Stockyards Act, enforce antitrust law already on the books, enact mandatory country-of-origin labeling and invest in independent processing so farmers and ranchers have real fairness in their operations.

Imported beef hurts American ranchers, hurts consumers at the grocery store, and puts more money in the pockets of monopoly meatpackers. Without mandatory country-of-origin labeling, you won't even know where it came from.

The administration needs to reverse its decision to import millions of pounds of beef and support American ranchers instead.

Consumers deserve to know where their beef comes from. American ranchers deserve credit for raising it. Mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling makes that happen — holding packers accountable and letting markets work honestly. Congress should finish what the Senate Ag Committee started and pass COOL.

🎉 BIG WIN for consumers and farmers: mandatory Country-of-Origin Labeling (COOL) was just adopted as a farm bill amendment in an overwhelming, bipartisan vote. The underlying bill stalled in committee. But this vote sends a clear message that commonsense labeling has broad support on both sides of the aisle. Consumers deserve to know where their food comes from, and ranchers deserve to get the credit for their high-quality beef.
