Zaytinya in Ward 2, part of quietly discontinued sale of Israeli settler wines, proving that boycotting and public pressure are effective methods of protest. Thank you for your calls, your emails, your making noise at their DC storefront. We will keep the push to boycott, divest, and sanction.

Earlier this month, the DC Council held a hearing on public safety where over 150 residents testified.

For over a year, we urged the DC Council to pass a ceasefire resolution, calling for an end to the genocide in Palestine. Even a symbolic resolution was not introduced.

So now, while Washington DC is under occupation, we are not surprised at their failure to stick up for their own residents, when ICE and federal agents are terrorizing Black and brown neighborhoods in this occupied city. The imperial boomerang is alive and well and our community members are the ones to keep us safe.

We need investment in jobs, afterschool programs, healthcare, housing, climate justice, and education - not militarized police, federal agents, war, deportations, and genocide.

Today, Rev. Jamal Bryant () joined the local boycott target coalition to honor the steadfastness in DC of over 35 weeks of consecutive pickets outside of target.

As he declared that DC will be the home of the new civil rights movement, he also took time to recognize places fighting for justice around the world- including Palestine.

Our struggles are intertwined! From Palestine to DC, we will boycott until all are free!

FREE DC! FREE PALESTINE! FREE US ALL!

On September 6, 2025 the people showed all their love for DC and intersectional fights for justice across the world, as one UNITED city! Estimates ranged from 10,000-25,000 people at any given point and in our Palestine contingent, we counted around 200 or more. The energy was inspiring as contingents from labor unions, to immigration justice groups and DC autonomy groups intertwined to fill the streets with chants for justice!

As we marched from Malcolm X park to Freedom Plaza, thousands chanted “Free DC”, Free Palestine”, and “The People United Will Never Be Defeated”. There were calls for Ice and the National Guard to stop occupying DC, as well as an end to deportations and federal agents roaming the city. Marches across contingents also joined in with us to call for an end to genocide, occupation, and the ethnic cleansing of Palestine.

For one day, DC was united in its calls for justice - From DC to Palestine, Occupation is a Crime!

ETHNIC CLEANSING IN PALESTINE AND GENTRIFICATION IN DC… two sides of the same coin!

Did you know there is a connection between what is happening in Palestine and the awful RFK Stadium deal that the DC Council is will make its first vote on THIS FRIDAY?
 DC residents deserve our taxes to go towards healthcare, housing and education. Not to ethnic cleansing and gentrification! This is another example of how Palestine is connected to local issues. 
Josh Harris, managing partner of the Commanders and billionaire, donates to the Apartheid State of Israel and its system of ethnic cleansing. Check the slides to see examples of who he donates to! 
This billion-dollar project for a new RFK Stadium will displace communities in DC, feed into further gentrification, not support unions, and increase Harris’ profits, which he can the. donate towards apartheid and genocide in Palestine.  
The current RFK Stadium deal is bad for DC residents and bad for Palestine!

How can you help fight this and get involved in solidarity work, from DC to Palestine?

Call Script: This stadium deal prioritizes billionaires who don’t live here, over DC residents. I oppose the largest stadium subsidies in US history and ask you to vote NO on Friday to give more time to craft a deal that benefits DC residents. I want a stadium deal where DC keeps more revenue, there are good jobs and real community benefits, a new Metro station instead of parking, and something that enhances the environment around the Anacostia River. Plus, I don’t want more funding to go to Josh Harris to donate even more to Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine!
