Our commitment to empowering and uplifting scholars on their higher education journey goes beyond financial aid. We firmly believe that mentorship plays a pivotal role in guiding students toward success in their academic and career pursuits.

We are reaching out to professionals in our community who are willing to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our newest scholars!

As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to:

★Support Scholars Academically: Help our scholars excel in their classes, navigate study challenges, and provide academic guidance to foster a love for learning.

★Facilitate Career Growth: Guide students in exploring potential career paths, finding internships, and taking steps towards achieving their professional goals.

★Be a Trusted Confidant: Offer your wisdom and experience as a sounding board for their questions, concerns, and seeking advice.

On March 28, Esperanza’s Career Day will bring together Scholars, alumni, and professionals for a high impact day of career exploration and skill building, and we urgently need volunteers to make it possible.

This is a meaningful opportunity to share your experience, inspire the next generation, and directly support our Scholars as they prepare for college and careers. Your time and perspective can make a lasting difference. Please consider signing up for one of the volunteer opportunities below.

Career Panelists
Volunteers share an overview of their career path, education, and current role, followed by a Q and A with Scholars. While we are especially seeking professionals in the Engineering and Technology, Health Care and Medical Fields, Business and Economics, Social Sciences and Public Service fields, we welcome panelists from any field. Every professional background offers valuable perspective and insight.

Resume Readers
Volunteers meet one-on-one with Scholars to review resumes and provide constructive feedback on content, clarity, and presentation. Any professional background is welcome. Esperanza will provide a simple rubric to guide the process.

Mock Interviewers
Volunteers conduct practice interviews to help Scholars strengthen their communication skills and build confidence. Professionals from all fields are encouraged to participate. Esperanza will provide sample questions and an interview rubric to ensure everyone feels prepared.

Giving Tuesday is here!

Since our email to you last week, 2 dedicated early donors have already stepped forward to support access to education for promising immigrant students in the Washington DC metropolitan Area.

We are that much closer to achieving our goal of 50 donors by 11:59pm tonight to sustain our scholarship and college success programs for immigrant students.

Esperanza scholars break barriers and excel academically. 80% of Esperanza Scholarship recipients complete their program, significantly higher than the national average.
