Friends of Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Connecting people to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens is the only national park devoted to cultivated water-loving plants.

This unique habitat, featuring exotic water lilies and lotus, is an oasis for nature lovers, a haven for walkers, hikers, photographers and birdwatchers and a living laboratory for students of all ages.

Join us this Saturday for our volunteer event on ! National Public Lands Day is the largest day of volunteer service on public lands (parks, forests, refuges, grasslands, and more). If you've enjoyed Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens this summer, it's a great day to give back! 🪷❤️‍🔥 We'll be showing our love by removing plastic and litter from around the park and marsh🍃

The winner of August's photo contest is Phil H. Congratulations Phil! This photo truly reflects the abundance of our garden during summer.❤️‍🔥

Here we see the sacred lotus blooming behind a buttonbush with an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly pollinating it. Buttonbush is native to our area and serves as food and shelter for many species, including butterflies, bees, hummingbirds, ducks, and waterfowl. It's a distinct plant that prefers wetland or marsh environments. Come to and check it out! 🍃

The winner of July's photo contest is Kyle Collins with this striking capture of a red-wing blackbird perched on some pickerelweed. If you hear a "conk-la-ree!" sound while walking in the gardens, look around! It might be a red-wing blackbird, one of the most frequently spotted birds here at Kenilworth, especially during summer. 🐦‍⬛
