Are you ready to experience the park’s beauty at dusk? It’s our pleasure to support evening access again this year. We begin our second summer of extended hours on Wednesday, June 3! Summer hours will run Wednesday, June 3, 2026 - Sunday, September 6, 2026. We will be open Monday and Tuesday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and Wednesday through Sunday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM. See you at the Gardens!

Our staff had so much fun exploring Rock Creek Park last Thursday, May 14th with other NPS National Capital Region (NCR) partners. FoKAG got a chance to learn more about Friends of Pierce Mill and Rock Creek Conservancy from our collogues Angela and Dan. We love urban parks! Thank you so much to the NCR partnerships team for organizing this field trip.

There is still time to register your child for Summer Camp at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. "Dungeons and Dragonflies: A Wetlands Adventure" runs from June 22 to 26 from 8:45am-3:00pm. Students in grades 2-8 (rising) will join our partners at Urban Adventure Squad for outdoor learning programs that include hiking, playing, exploring, and creating. All programs include a balance of unstructured play time and educator-led, hands-on activities. Partial and full scholarship options are available. Thank you to our Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Conservation Corps members! Alongside NPS, this amazing team has been working on pond shoreline restoration for the last six weeks (in additional to other crucial park maintenance activities). Yesterday, we celebrated the conclusion of this inaugural program. Special thanks to CSW and UDC for forming the partnership that brought this program to life. Saturday volunteer events take place between April-October, on the fourth Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Our next event is THIS WEEKEND May 23rd! These volunteer days give you the chance to work in the lily and lotus ponds, help remove damaging invasive plants, clear trash from the marsh, and more! FoKAG partnered with UDC this year to create a Conservation Corps for the first time. We provided five students from the UDC National Green Infrastructure Certification Program (NGICP) with the opportunity to work alongside NPS supporting critical maintenance projects at the park during a 6-week internship at the Gardens.
