NEW: Journalists at the Centre Daily Times in Central Pennsylvania have won their first contract in record time. The entire unionization process, from organizing to ratifying, took them less than four months!

“Our two priorities involved fairer pay and AI protections and, thanks to the unions that came before us and fought for those same principles, we were able to reach an agreement in record time,” said reporter Josh Moyer.

BREAKING: USA Today’s journalists and media workers demand that the media company end its relationship with AI firm Palantir.

They’re alarmed that the largest news chain would partner with a firm responsible for technology used to advance widespread surveillance and power immigration crackdowns. It creates an inherent conflict of interest and fails journalists who have been assaulted while doing their jobs.

Journalists are committed to upholding First Amendment principles to serve the democratic process. That’s in direct contrast with a company like Palantir, whose cofounder, Peter Thiel, once said freedom and democracy were not compatible.

Yesterday, El Paso and Minnesota union leaders came together in New Mexico to advocate for our union brother’s release from ICE detention.

Eustaquio “Paco” Orozco Verdusco, a member of NewsGuild-CWA, was on his way to work on Jan. 9, 2026, when immigration officers began following him shortly after leaving his house in C**n Rapids, Minnesota. He was arrested and has spent the last several months detained at the Cibola County Detention Center in New Mexico.

On Monday, Paco’s bond was denied and he remains in ICE detention.

From north to south and coast to coast, our union movement will continue fighting for our members in ICE detention, and won’t stop ‘til ICE is out of our communities! ✊🏽
