In March 2023, we produced the first ever National Capital Cabaret Festival in Washington D.C.

We are dedicated to promoting the cabaret art form by entertaining, educating, & engaging audiences & artists through world-class performances, monthly open mics, cabaret workshops/master classes, & producing the National Capital Cabaret Festival. Founded in 2022, Capital Cabaret fosters an inclusive community where cabaret singers, songwriter, music educators, and other musicians, can develop and

share in their appreciation and craft. which included producing showcase performances for wide range of emerging and local artists. We are dedicated to advancing the cabaret art form by entertaining, educating and engaging audiences and artists through world-class performances, monthly open mics, workshops/classes, and producing the National Capital Cabaret Festival annually in March.

Our host, John Martinez, will lead the evening and we are excited to have Michael Thompson on the keyboard! Michael has a long history of playing in DC and after his Capital Cabaret debut with Steve Washington during the Cabaret Festival, we get to see him in action for our open mic!

April showers, brings May flowers and on May 11, 2026, those flowers will be singing at Curtain Call cabaret open mic!!

Join our effervescent host, Meredith Kilmartin as she shares her talent for the first time as host! Cabaret is not just about the songs, but about the connection and community they create! We are excited to have Jeff Hamlin sitting in behind the keyboard to bring all the talent to life for the evening!

What to Bring:
Your sheet music! Physical or digital sheet music is welcome! If it’s digital, please bring it as a PDF—our talented pianist will have an iPad available to play from. We do not support music players or backing tracks. Don't have sheet music but want to go acapella? Sure! Got your own instrument to play and sing? Amazing!

Spring is in the air in DC! What better way to celebrate new life than with music!! Curtain Call cabaret open mic returns April 13, 2026 at Barrel House Cafe and Bar for another amazing night of talent from the DMV area!

Join our spectacular host, Emmy Award Winner Maureen Kerrigan as she shares her wonderful voice and knowledge with us! Cabaret is not just about the songs, but about the connection and community they create! Helping everyone to create that magic is the Maestro Alex Tang! Fresh off a number of shows, we are honored that he shares his gift with all of our singers!
