Campaign Nonviolence will march for justice, peace and environmental healing throughout the US and around the world September 18-25, 2016, including the International Day of Peace, September 21. In 2015, CNV Action Week featured 370 marches, rallies, demonstrations, vigils and other events in every US state and in nine countries. In 2016 our goal is 500 marches for a culture of peace and nonviolence. Many cities in 2015 organized multiple actions—and events were held all week long in Raleigh, Little Rock, Boise, San Francisco and Memphis. We invite people everywhere to plan a series of actions—and even events all week—as part of the CNV Action Week 2016. With growing international involvement—including groups in 25 nations that sent thousands of peace cranes for the recent CNV national conference—Campaign Nonviolence officially invites people and organizations worldwide to take action during CNV Action Week 2016. To our 2026 Changemaker Youth Grantees: congratulations. 💚

Over the past months, young changemakers across the world took their ideas for addressing violence and turned them into action in their own communities.

They brought dialogue into coffee circles, danced to challenge bullying, transformed waste into art and spaces for peace, organized for civic rights, challenged discrimination, protected ecosystems, created spaces for interfaith learning, & found distinctly local ways to practice nonviolence.

At our Changemaker Youth Grants Closing Ceremony, we came together to hear what happened when those ideas left the page and entered communities.

We are incredibly proud of this cohort, and even more excited about what they do next.

Congratulations to every young person, team member, family member and community that brought these projects to life. 🌱

This year, Campaign Nonviolence Action Days puts the focus on solutions.

From September 21 to October 2, communities around the world will come together for the Year of Nonviolent Solutions, lifting up the policies, programs, practices, and forms of action that reduce harm, prevent violence, and build safer communities.

That can mean restorative justice, community safety, mediation, mutual aid, affordable housing, renewable energy, or any other solution your community is already working to strengthen.

There are three ways to take part:

1- Reflect on the harm your community is facing and the change it needs.
2- Educate people about solutions that already exist and how they work.
3- Act by putting a solution into practice or building public support for it.

57% of our Summer Sprint goal is already behind us, thanks to everyone who has chosen to invest in this work.

That support matters because every year, people across communities choose to respond to violence with something concrete. They organize, build alternatives, bring others into the work & show what nonviolence can look like when it moves from an idea into public life.

Campaign Nonviolence Action Days creates space for those efforts to connect, grow and become visible as part of something larger.
