Campaign Nonviolence

Campaign Nonviolence Save the date and start planning now! Campaign Nonviolence was launched with 240 public actions in all 50 US states September 21-27, 2014.

Campaign Nonviolence - a project of Pace e Bene - is a long term movement for a culture of active nonviolence, connecting the dots between war, poverty, racism and environmental destruction. Campaign Nonviolence is a long-term movement is to build a culture of peace and nonviolence free from war, poverty, racism, climate crisis, and the epidemic of violence. Campaign Nonviolence will march for justice, peace and environmental healing throughout the US and around the world September 18-25, 2016, including the International Day of Peace, September 21. In 2015, CNV Action Week featured 370 marches, rallies, demonstrations, vigils and other events in every US state and in nine countries. In 2016 our goal is 500 marches for a culture of peace and nonviolence. Many cities in 2015 organized multiple actions—and events were held all week long in Raleigh, Little Rock, Boise, San Francisco and Memphis. We invite people everywhere to plan a series of actions—and even events all week—as part of the CNV Action Week 2016. With growing international involvement—including groups in 25 nations that sent thousands of peace cranes for the recent CNV national conference—Campaign Nonviolence officially invites people and organizations worldwide to take action during CNV Action Week 2016. Together we will join our voices from around the planet to support a global nonviolent shift! Check out Campaign Nonviolence at http://CampaignNonviolence.org

Libraries offer warmth, water, bathrooms, communication, and refuge. For people without housing, that can mean survival. But policing can turn a public resource into another place of fear. Some libraries are choosing social workers, services, and conflict mediators instead.

What would change if every public space was designed around care first?

Food. Shelter. English classes. Trauma recovery. Immigration advocacy.

This year's Changemaker Youth Grant Cohort is unlike anything we've seen; young organizers, artists, and movement builders putting nonviolence into practice in their own communities, on their own terms. Over the coming weeks, we'll introduce you to each of them: their projects, their vision, and what the nonviolent future looks like through their eyes.
And this summer? You'll see it all come together at our free public showcase.
These are the people who remind us that nonviolence is practiced. And the next generation is already practicing.

106 days. 300-400 people. Indigenous-led. Armed with nothing but bodies, banners, and refusal. Guatemala's people blocked a coup with sustained, organized nonviolence. Democracy defended from below.
