📍 Washington, D.C. — Working to push forward H.R. 3104 🇺🇸🇺🇦

This Wednesday, Svitanok team was on the ground in the U.S. Capitol, advocating for H.R. 3104 — the Ukraine Adjustment Act, a bill that would give Ukrainian parolees in the U.S. a path to legal status and stability.

Even while Congress is in recess, we’re using every opportunity to meet with key legislative offices and staff — laying the groundwork to move this bill forward the moment lawmakers return.

Thousands of Ukrainians in the U.S. are facing legal limbo due to severe delays at USCIS or the looming end of temporary protections. This isn’t just policy — it’s people’s lives.

As leaders of the Ukrainian diaspora, we’re here to:
• Defend our community’s future
• Push real immigration solutions
• Represent those who recently fled war and now call America home

This is what real advocacy looks like and we are determined to continue to fight for Ukrainian cause and for the needs of our community.

🇺🇸🇺🇦 Svitanok at the U.S.-Ukraine Working Group Summit XIII | Washington, D.C.

On June 18, our team participated in the 13th Annual U.S.-Ukraine Working Group Summit in Washington, D.C., held under the theme:
“Providing Ukraine with an Annual Report Card Amidst War – Year Four.”

This high-level gathering brought together U.S. and Ukrainian diplomats, policymakers, economists, defense analysts, and civil society leaders to assess Ukraine’s wartime progress across six core areas:
🔹 Democratic Governance
🔹 Economic & Fiscal Resilience
🔹 Energy Independence
🔹 Security & Defense
🔹 Social Cohesion
🔹 National Identity

Svitanok NYC took part in these strategic conversations to ensure that the Ukrainian-American voice is heard loud and clear at the policy table. We engaged directly with top leaders — including former Ambassadors John Herbst and William Taylor — to share our current advocacy priorities and outline the growing threat of Russian disinformation in the United States.

As part of our mission, Svitanok continues to expose and counter Russian influence operations targeting U.S. media, academic institutions, and diasporic communities. We emphasized that supporting Ukraine abroad must go hand-in-hand with defending truth at home — especially as disinformation campaigns seek to weaken American resolve and divide public opinion.

We thank the U.S.-Ukraine Foundation, American Foreign Policy Council, and all summit partners for convening this timely and impactful event. Now more than ever, Ukraine must remain a priority in U.S. foreign policy, and civil society has a central role in making that happen.

We return from Washington more focused than ever — ready to build alliances, shape narratives, and ensure truth prevails over propaganda.

Today during an advocacy visit of our New York delegation to our chapter in Washington, DC, we met with 7 Congressional offices to advocate for H.R. 1949 — a crucial bipartisan bill that would expand U.S. LNG exports and strike a blow to Russia’s war machine.

Here’s why it matters:

➡️ Russia earned over €600B from fossil fuel sales to Europe in the first two years of its full-scale invasion — more than Ukraine received in aid from European allies.

➡️ Passing H.R. 1949 would allow the U.S. to replace Russian gas with American LNG — boosting the U.S. economy, creating jobs, and undermining Russia’s war funding.

➡️ It’s a win for America and a strategic lifeline for Europe.

Since we began working on this issue in April, we’ve made real progress — building bipartisan support and gaining new cosponsors. In a time when Ukraine is becoming a politicized issue, strategic legislation where Ukraine is a second beneficiary may be the most effective way forward.

During this trip, we also met with the leadership of and the Baltic American Freedom League, discussing how our communities can work together to advance shared priorities in Washington.

Thank you to all the Congressional offices and allied organizations who are helping move this forward. Effective advocacy works — and we’re just getting started.

🔵 Throwback from our New York team’s visit to Washington, D.C on May 11th:

Svitanok delegation had the honor of joining a special side event at the Ukrainian House, kicking off the SelectUSA Investment Summit.

It was a great opportunity to connect with Ukrainian business leaders and their American partners, discuss pathways for collaboration, and explore how Ukrainian companies can enter and thrive in the U.S. market. The support from both sides was inspiring—and we’re proud to stand behind efforts that bring our communities and economies closer together.

Big thanks to the Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. and local American officials for making this possible!

Last week, the Svitanok team carried out a targeted advocacy mission to Washington, D.C., conducting a series of high-level, bipartisan meetings with Members of Congress to advocate for the urgent passage of H.R. 1949—a vital piece of legislation with far-reaching implications for U.S. national security, European energy independence, and global stability.

At the heart of our message was the fact that H.R. 1949 is not just another foreign policy bill—it is a strategic investment in America’s own prosperity and leadership. By expanding U.S. LNG infrastructure and exports, the bill will sever Europe’s dependence on Russian energy, directly undermining the Kremlin’s ability to fund its brutal war against Ukraine. At the same time, it will unlock hundreds of thousands of American jobs, strengthen domestic energy production, and stimulate regional economies across the United States.

Throughout our meetings, we emphasized how the passage of H.R. 1949 would be a decisive blow to Putin’s war machine—transforming America into Europe’s most reliable energy partner while fortifying the transatlantic alliance at a time of historic threat.

This independent advocacy effort by Svitanok coincided with a week of active engagement by various Ukrainian delegations on Capitol Hill. Our role was distinct yet complementary: to ensure that Ukrainian-American voices were clearly heard in support of solutions that align American power with democratic resilience in Europe.

We are proud to report strong momentum behind H.R. 1949, and we remain committed to building bipartisan coalitions that advance this legislation—not only to protect Ukraine, but to reinforce America’s global leadership in the 21st century.

Every step we take is driven by the belief that the fight for Ukraine is also a fight for American interests, values, and future prosperity. H.R. 1949 is a clear and actionable way for Congress to lead on all fronts.

God Bless the United States and Glory to Ukraine!🇺🇸🇺🇦
