July 10, 2026 | Humanitarian Response Update

On July 10, 2026, South Sudan Women United (SSWU), in collaboration with LWF, represented the Protection and Non-Food Items (NFI) sectors in providing humanitarian assistance to newly arrived refugees and returnees from Sudan.

The response included the distribution of dignity kits and essential non-food items (NFIs) to vulnerable women, girls, and families affected by displacement. This joint intervention was supported by UNHCR, ACTED, and UNICEF, demonstrating the importance of coordinated humanitarian action in responding to the ongoing crisis.

SSWU remains committed to supporting communities affected by war, conflict, and displacement by delivering life-saving assistance with dignity, compassion, and hope.

SSWU Celebrates Graduation of 113 Trainees in Skills and Protection Programs in Renk
Renk, Upper Nile State, February 27, 2026. South Sudan Women United (SSWU) proudly celebrated the graduation of 113 participants who successfully completed training in tailoring, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, child protection, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in Renk County.
The program aims to strengthen community resilience by equipping women and youth with practical livelihood skills and knowledge to support survivors of violence and vulnerable children.

The ceremony was attended by local leaders and community members. The Honorable Commissioner of Renk County delivered remarks in support of the initiative and commended SSWU for its contribution to empowering women and strengthening community protection services. The Ministry of Labor had pledged to immediately employ 5 graduates from the SSWU’s programs.

SSWU extends its sincere appreciation to its donors and partners for their continued support, which made the training possible.
The organization also recognizes the dedication of the SSWU team and trainers, whose commitment ensured the successful completion of the program.

Through initiatives like this, SSWU continues to support women, youth, refugees, returnees, and host communities by promoting protection, skills development, and sustainable livelihoods.
