al. Since 1949, we have operated under the belief that inherent in every child can succeed and thrive in life. Our adult volunteers, known as Bigs, are the backbone of our mission. They provide guidance, support, and friendship to our Littles, empowering them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Through our various mentorship programs, we offer a safe and supportive environment for youth to thrive and reach their full potential. Children participating in our programs are:
- 85% less likely to have contact with juvenile courts
- 70% less likely to initiate drug use
- 64% more likely to achieve higher grades.

Thanks to a generous donation, several of our attended the Washington Commanders training camp! 🏈

Our and got an up-close look at the action as they watched the team practice, cheered from the sidelines, and shared plenty of laughs.

🎒 Back to school with DJS!

Our team members Sarah and Mackenzie represented at the Department of Juvenile Services’ back-to-school event in Rockville. This event connected youth and families with resources for a strong start to the school year.

They shared how young people can become Littles, how caring adults can volunteer as mentors, and how our programs help youth recognize their potential.

🍔 was on the menu during our recent event with Five Guys!

At the company’s corporate headquarters in Alexandria, our Littles toured the office, created vision boards, played simulation games, and heard from professionals about their career journeys and the many paths that can lead to success.

Experiences like this give young people the opportunity to discover new possibilities, build confidence, and begin imagining a future filled with promise—and, of course, the day wouldn’t have been complete without a delicious lunch! 🍟

🎾 Our Littles have been serving up fun all summer!

For the past four weeks, our , , and their families have enjoyed free tennis lessons provided by the Montgomery County Tennis and Education Foundation (MCTEF).

From learning forehands and backhands to building confidence on the court, each Saturday has brought a new opportunity to learn, connect, and have fun together.

Thank you to for providing the instruction, equipment, and encouragement that made this experience possible—and for helping our Littles discover a new sport along the way! 💚

A college campus can feel very different once you have had the opportunity to picture yourself there. 🎓

Our recently visited the University of Maryland Global Campus for a special college and career exploration experience. Throughout the day, they learned about academic programs and career pathways, connected with university leaders and students, and explored the campus.

Experiences like this help young people ask questions, discover new possibilities, and begin imagining what their own futures could look like.

Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow! 💸💚

Our youth had an amazing time at our event with Fidelity Investments!

During the interactive Five Money Musts session, they built financial literacy skills through hands-on activities that focused on budgeting, saving, spending wisely, and planning for the future.

They also toured the Fidelity Investor Center, met with professionals from a variety of careers, and asked thoughtful questions about what it takes to succeed in the world of finance, business, and more.

From hands-on learning to networking over lunch with Fidelity professionals—our youth left inspired, informed, and empowered to take the next steps toward their goals. 🤝

For nearly five years, Destinee and Jessica have built a relationship grounded in trust, support, and showing up for one another. What started as a mentoring relationship has grown into a lasting bond.
