To all survivors: We showed up. We voted. And despite our best efforts, we’re now facing the harsh reality of a man who a jury found guilty of sexual assault in the highest office. This outcome is painful and triggering, and in times like these, it’s okay to grieve, to rest, and to prioritize your well-being. Ground yourself in your community, lean on those who support you, and remember that healing is also a form of resistance.

The work we did here together was GOOD work and worthwhile. We made our voices unified and loud. We were and will continue to be heard. We are stronger than the systems that seek to silence us, and together, we will forge a path forward. Together, we will be a voice for survivors well beyond this generation. That world that we reimagined together WILL be real - a world free for sexual and gender-based violence. A world safe for us, our families and our children. A world when bodily autonomy, consent education, health care and healing, and workplace safety is a statement, not a question.

Do you still believe it can exist? Because we sure do!

🚨 REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM IS ON THE BALLOT🚨

This November, 10 states are voting on abortion rights. At the heart of the survivor justice movement is the right to control our own bodies. Bodily autonomy is a non-negotiable and a fundamental right. It means having the freedom to make decisions about our health, futures and lives.

There have been continued efforts to restrict reproductive and survivor rights. This is a threat to our autonomy and our well-being. This election is our moment to stand up and demand a change.

Healing is a journey. Every survivor deserves a map.

So here’s a quick quiz: True or False?
- Mental health care is just as important as physical health care.
- All healthcare providers are trained in trauma-informed care.
- Survivors of sexual violence often face barriers to accessing proper healthcare.

Answers: 1. True 2. False 3. True

The Survivors' Agenda is working to change #2 and #3. Here's how:
- Funding of community-rooted, culturally-responsive, and trauma-informed programs that serve every survivor
- All health insurance policies to fully cover mental health services without co-pay, including a range of trauma-informed therapies, community healing services, substance abuse treatment, and harm reduction services, and culturally-competent and identity-affirming services and healers.
- Ensure youth survivors of sexual violence have access to healing services without parental consent
- Increase access to virtual and phone-based mental health programs
- Incentives and requirements for anti-bias and trauma training for all mental and medical health care providers
- Ensure that institutions are held accountable for not keeping children and adolescents safe, and for covering up child sexual abuse, such as in organized religion and sports.

Healing is not linear. It's not one-size-fits-all. And it's certainly not a luxury.

The Survivors' Agenda believes healing is a fundamental right. Here's what that looks like:
- Universal coverage for trauma-related care
- Culturally competent, survivor-centered services
- Full mental health parity
- Holistic healing options

But right now, too many survivors can't access the care they need. We're changing that.

It’s about boundaries, respect, and healthy relationships.

The Survivors’ Agenda is calling for a transformation in education. Here’s our vision:
- Survivor-centered and trauma-informed restorative approaches to justice in schools that enable a shift away from punitive approaches to school discipline.
- Removal of police from schools and investments in counseling, mental health support, community supports, and social/emotional learning.
- Confidential support and resources for students experiencing sexual violence and school investment in partnerships with external community-based agencies to provide this support.
- Eradication of responses centered on punishment and exclusion that harm survivors, who are often disciplined when they report or when they act out as a result of untreated trauma

TODAY marks the 7th anniversary of the - a hashtag that has uplifted and united survivors, and sparked a global conversation on sexual violence. As we reflect on this milestone and the journey thus far, it is evident that survivors deserve more than acknowledgement - they deserve justice. They deserve for their voices to be heard. They deserve to be at the center of the conversations around policies that impact their livelihood and so much more.

Imagine a world where everyone understands consent. Where healthy relationships are the norm, not the exception. That world starts with education. If we are truly seeking to prevent and interrupt sexual and gender-based violence, we MUST build power and change the conversation.

The Survivors’ Agenda calls for:
- Comprehensive K-12 consent education
- LGBTQIA+ inclusive curricula
- Trauma-informed teaching approaches
