American Coatings Association The American Coatings Association represents both companies and employees of the coatings industry.

The American Coatings Association (ACA) is a nonprofit trade association representing both companies and professionals in the paint and coatings industry. The organization was founded on Sept. 11, 1887 as the National Paint, Oil and Varnish Association. Since then, the organization has had several names: the National Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association (1933), National Paint and Coatings Association (1971), and, most recently, the American Coatings Association (2010). ACA was honored to take part in and be a Platinum Sponsor of the 25th Annual Spirit of Mount Vernon, which supports George Washington's Mount Vernon's mission of education, historic preservation, and the legacy of George Washington!

The event was a tremendous success, raising over $1.5 million that will help maintain Mount Vernon, support the revitalization of the estate’s Mansion and the reopening of the education center, and keep welcoming generations of students and families to George Washington’s home to learn about our nation’s storied history.
