The Suburban Philadelphia Branch recently gathered for a successful Branch Retreat filled with sisterhood, reflection, planning, and preparation for the new program year!

Members took time to reconnect, uplift one another, and remember that strong service begins with a strong and supportive sisterhood. They also put ideas to paper and began planning exciting initiatives for the year ahead.

New York Branch members partnered with the North Manhattan Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., along with other community organizations, to provide book bags, school supplies, healthy snacks, and educational and community resources to hundreds of local families.

The event also included a tennis camp, giving children an opportunity to learn, play, and have fun!

The Bi-Parish Bayou Branch recently gathered more than 25 women for its Annual Sisterhood Retreat, a time of fellowship, leadership development, and preparation for the year ahead.

The retreat featured updates from President Quentina Brown and First Vice President Denise Patterson, along with an informative presentation by National First Vice President Dr. Debra Yarbrough on NAUW protocol, procedures, and purpose.

Members also celebrated the service and leadership of Dr. Debra Yarbrough, Dora Lumpkin, and Immediate Past President Denise Roberts, welcomed prospective members, and participated in team-building and service activities led by Second Vice President Nene Verrett Gipson.

The Terrebonne Branch held its Annual Planning Retreat, “Camp OAK!”

Their “Camp Guides” led the campers on a journey to map out the yearly calendar, plan meaningful committee activities, and prepare for another impactful year of service, sisterhood, and community engagement.

Along the trail, there was plenty of time to collaborate, connect, and laugh.

We’re happy to report… NO CAMPERS WERE LOST! Everyone made it safely to our destination with a clear roadmap for ensuring that our mission is represented throughout the upcoming year.

Over the weekend, the Lafayette Branch held a successful Annual Leadership Retreat centered on leadership, sisterhood, collaboration, and service.

Under the theme, “Leading with Purpose: Building Strong Leaders, Strong Committees, and a Stronger Branch,” members prepared for another impactful year of advancing the mission of NAUW.

The retreat also included the induction of new members and installation of new officers. We proudly welcome our newest sisters and congratulate the officers who have answered the call to lead and serve!

The Halifax County Branch for partnered with First Baptist Church Enfield and the Walter Richards Industrial Community Institute in Liberia for an international back-to-school service project.

Together, they collected more than 200 pairs of new and gently used shoes to support students as they prepare for the new school year!

This initiative demonstrates the power of partnership and our continued commitment to making a difference in the lives of students, at home and around the world.
