DC Resources to Help Neighbors Prepare for Cold Weather

With below-freezing weather expected this weekend, cold.dc.gov has shelter information and other resources for neighbors who may need support. Additionally, the DC Attorney General’s Mediation Program is an important resource for neighbors who are having heating issues. If you are a District renter and your landlord is being unresponsive, OAG’s Mediation Program will prioritize these complaints and contact the responsible party the same day. Complaints can be submitted through the OAG Consumer Complaint Portal.

ANC-1E public round-table on the concerns of small business owners in the lower Georgia Avenue corridor. Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the DC Housing Finance Agency Building, 815 Florida Avenue, NW.

The round-table was requested by the Georgia Avenue Town Hall Collective, a group composed of small business owners, graduates of the Howard University School of Law, community activists, and other stakeholders from the area.

As a Georgia Avenue business owner and/or stakeholder, we invite you to come to the meeting to voice your concerns. In the near future the group will be reaching out to individual Ward One candidates to hear how you can address the needs of the community.

Please encourage other Georgia Avenue business owners and other interested residents to come to the meeting. We look forward to your attendance at this important event!

If you’re looking for more ways to get involved in serving our community, you're invited to join our Ward 4 Volunteer Corps!
