It was a great game, despite the result 😞. Congrats to the Springboks and looking forward to the next time! Thanks to the guys who came down from New York and put on a great tailgate and to Melissa Kitto, Jo Best Grossman and others who rallied All Blacks supporters and coordinated pre- and postgame events. What an amazing day for Kiwis with SIX60 in town as well!
This game had an immense marketing build up by TEG Sport and their partners/stakeholders. The All Blacks hit 3 million on their instagram page shortly before the fixture, Rassie would be involved with his 100th Springboks fixture and the home team the Baltimore Ravens gave up their stadium on the opening NFL weekend to host Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry for its fourth & final test in an unknown Baltimore location.
The result would be a record attendance for the country at 68,173 only a small amount shy of a 70,000 sell out and the fans that attended being hosted by some of the best hosts Baltimore had to offer. Spectacular seafood & service at the family operated Phillips Seafood Baltimore - Springboks drinking the bar dry of Guinness at Mick O’Shea’s Irish Pub - 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗶 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘆 hosting fantastic socials at The TailGOAT - and top views by the water with Barcocina - it was a weekend for the traveller & rugby supporter to remember!
Supporters were also in the presence of rugby royalty with the legendary Francois Pienaar | Portia Woodman | Dan Carter | Bryan Habana | and Justin Marshall in attendance to name a few. We’d also like to thank National Collegiate Rugby for the hospitality & good cheer to top the occasion off.
Until next time America. It was emotional.
The weekend was worth every moment.
