Hello Neighbors! Some of you may have discovered a "Scouting for Food" sticky note on your front door this morning, and that's because we have some amazing Scouts from Cub Scout Pack 98 (https://facebook.com/pack98dc) and Scouts BSA Troop 98 (https://www.facebook.com/troop98dc) right here in our neighborhood!
Those notes are because Scouts are working hard on Scouting for Food for St. Anthony's as part of our largest community service project of the year, and this year's goal is to collect TWO TONS of food for the St. Anthony of Padua's parish food pantry to help our neighbors who are food insecure (https://stanthonyofpaduadc.org/).
There are two great and easy ways to donate:
Donate in-person: If you had a sticky note on your door this morning, be sure to put your donations by your door on Saturday, November 9 by 8:30 am and a Scout will collect it. (Yes! Our Scouts will be up early and working on a Saturday! 😀 )
If you didn't receive a sticky note and want to donate, please bring your donations directly to the St. Anthony's Bread: St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry entrance in the parish parking lot via 12th & Lawrence Streets, NE.
Scouts will be there to assist in collecting your donations until 12:30 PM.
Most wanted items: canned or dry beans; canned vegetables, peanut butter, grains and pasta, hot and cold cereal, canned tuna, salmon, or chicken, healthy snacks, canned fruits, 100% juice boxes or containers. Please: NO perishable groceries (produce, etc.), NO glass or opened containers; NO frozen foods.
Donate Online: You can also make an online food donation through December 14 just by visiting https://yougivegoods.com/98sff2024 -- all donations will be delivered directly to St. Anthony's!
Feel free to share this information far and wide and thank you in advance for your support of Scouting for Food!
