The Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) DC Committee invites you on an in-person insider walking tour of notable buildings and landmarks in the Penn Quarter area! This 1-mile walking tour features the following guest speakers providing insight and unique information on the architecture, engineering, and construction of notable buildings on the route. We plan to meet on Thursday, May 19th from 6-7pm EST in the center of Franklin Park in NW Washington DC. This event is free and we hope to see you there!

Join AEI DC and AIA|DC’s Building Enclosure Council (BEC) for a lunchtime lecture with Daniel J. Lemieux, FAIA, NCARB, RIBA, MRICS and Nicholas Ozog, PE. Lemieux and Ozog will summarize how facade materials and designs have evolved in recent times to incorporate significant amounts of combustible materials, and present a framework to assess the fire performance and hazards posed by such facades. This session will incorporate case studies to illustrate application of the framework with a series of practical examples of real-world construction.
