A team from Sources National had a blast tabling and presenting at the American Association of Suicidology Conference in St. Louis last week! Thanks to those who attended presentations, stopped by the booth, and imagined what upstream prevention could look like in your schools and workplaces.

May is , a reminder that every person experiencing a mental health or suicidal crisis deserves a compassionate response and access to care that meets their needs.

Today, the Crisis Collaborative — a partnership between the American Association of Suicidology, CIT International, International Co-Responder Alliance, and People USA — call for stronger, coordinated behavioral health crisis systems across the United States.

Together, we believe every person experiencing a suicidal or mental health crisis deserves timely, empathetic support and access to quality care.

Last week at , we were proud to launch the pilot offering of AAS’s new Psychological Autopsy Certified Training (PACT) Practitioner Course.

Over two intensive days, participants engaged in advanced suicidology education, case-based application, interview practice, and discussions centered on ethical, trauma-informed, and prevention-focused approaches to psychological autopsy work.

The Psychological Autopsy remains one of the most valuable tools in su***de research and prevention, helping professionals better understand the circumstances surrounding su***de while informing future prevention efforts.

Thank you to Jeff Thompson, PhD, Jenna Mehnert Baker, DPA, MSW, and to all of the participants who helped shape the PACT training experience at AAS26.

The final keynote of and the Healing After Su***de Loss Summit concluded with an impactful presentation from Sarah Gaer, MA: Su***de Loss: Grief, Trauma, and Soul Exhaustion.

Drawing from more than 25 years of experience in trauma, addiction, and su***de prevention, Sarah introduced the concepts of “Soul Exhaustion” and “Soul Care,” encouraging attendees to think beyond traditional self-care and toward healing through meaning-making, restoration, and long-term integration after su***de loss.

We’re grateful to Sarah and to all those who helped create spaces for reflection and healing throughout the conference.
