To our supporters near and far, thank you for every young person you've guided to Brainfood's doors over the past 19 years, for your donations made in solidarity with our work, for volunteering your time supporting the growth of our programs and youth garden, and for each bag of Brainfood Homegrown popcorn you purchased from our young entrepreneurs.

It's with a heavy heart we share that Brainfood is no longer able to sustain operations due to changes in funding, and we're suspending programs for now with the hope of finding a new home for them in the future. If you or someone in your network has the resources to host a dynamic, hands-on youth program, help us along the next step of our journey by dropping us a line at [email protected].

Thank you, sincerely, for your support, for believing in the unlimited potential of our young people, and for helping us build a community that made us hopeful and proud.

Our spirits and stomachs are still full after our graduation celebration on Thursday! Full of delicious food made by our teen chefs, pride for all of their growth and accomplishments this year, gratitude for our incredible team of volunteers and weekly classroom assistants, and joy for another wonderful program year.

Congratulations to team "DMV Chefs," this year's winners of our cooking competition! We truly do not have all of the words to encompass our feelings after such a great year and special event! A huge thank you to all who helped make this magic and madness happen.

We had some amazing guest chefs in our Brainfood kitchens this week leading workshops! Thanks to Domenica Marchetti of Domenica Cooks and Chef Matt Baker, Executive Chef/Owner at Gravitas for visiting and guiding Brainfood students through fresh pasta making and homemade poke bowls! We also had the honor to welcome Chefs Matt Adler and Patrick Curran from Alta Strada/Casolare Ristorante & Bar, in addition to a Brainfood graduate who just published her own online vegan cookbook. Thanks to everyone in our community who supports our work and the amazing young people we have the pleasure to serve everyday.

It's a beautiful day in the Brainfood Youth Garden! The fig tree is starting to come to life, resident mason bees are setting up shop in our homemade bee house, and the grounds are covered in cherry blossoms.
