With capacity restrictions lifted for our parks and recreation centers, DPR is ready to help you make the most out of a long-awaited Summer season.

We're so excited to reopen our doors and welcome back residents from all 8 wards! Check out the list below for a breakdown of what's newly opened up.

Select Recreation Centers
Walk-ins welcome. Reservations no longer reuqired.

Fitness Centers
Walk-ins welcome. Reservations no longer reuqired.

Athletic Fields & Courts
Spontaneous play welcome. Permit required for groups of 10 or more.

Permits for all Sports
Full-contact sports permits such as basketball, football, and soccer will now be accepted.

Outdoor Pools & Spray Parks
Returning Saturday, 5/29 at full capacity.

Select Indoor Pools
Reservations no longer reuqired starting 6/1, walk-ins welcome on that date.

Please note that patrons ages 2 years and up are still required to wear a mask or face covering at all times at DPR indoor facilities.

Beginning Monday, April 19, DC residents who are 65 and older will be able to get vaccinated without an appointment at walk-up sites across DC.

Please note: The appointments at the Bald Eagle Recreation Center are limited to residents from Wards 7 and 8 and are open to any resident from those two wards who is 18 or older.

Greetings Neighbors,

The Friends of Edgewood Recreation Center (Friends of Edgewood) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that incorporated in the District of Columbia in 2009.

As a community led and run organization, we facilitate various community building projects, neighborhood social events and meetings. Our motto and motivation is ‘doing good in Edgewood’.
Given the changing nature of life in the times of Covid, and the movement of neighbors in and out of Edgewood, we are looking to cast a broad net and reach out to any neighbors who are interested in engaging, innovating and collaborating on community efforts.

On my way to drop off the 500 locally made reusable masks and 150 single use masks to our neighbors in the asenior Buildings at Edgewood Commons.

The Rooftop Farm at the new Edgewood Recreation Center is providing free local, fresh, organic veggie produce to neighbors!

Show up at the Center from 11 am - 12 noon on Tuesdays and be sure to wear a mask, and bring your own bag for your produce. The rec center is located at 301 Franklin St. NE.
