This Sunday, August 11th, starting at 1pm we'll hold an important fundraiser for Casa Ruby LGBT Youth House

Have you noticed 27 pansies on DC Brau Pride Pils beer cans this year? These flowers represent 27 transgender souls that were murdered in 2018 and beginning of 2019.

Among other important expenditures, Casa Ruby needs a new security guard. There will be multiple options to donate. We will post a FB donation link on the day of the event. Additionally, Casa Ruby will be selling wristbands for Happy Hour pricing from 1-8pm in the Beer Garden, with all proceeds from the wristbands going directly to the great work they do!

About: Casa Ruby is a bilingual LGBTQIA organization that provides tangible social services and safety net programs for the most vulnerable among us - transgender youth and women of color.

About 40% of the homeless population in the U.S. are LGBT Q***r youth, most of whom are rejected by their families because of their sexuality.

Over 50% of the DC-area transgender-queer population is unemployed, many face homelessness.

Casa Ruby LGBT Community Center has embarked in one its biggest projects: to create a temporary home for dozens of homeless LGBT Q***r youth in Washington, DC, area.

We are a non-profit, grass roots, community organization that works fully with donations of individuals and institutions, we've served over 1,000 clients in our first 2 years.

We need $30,000 to get this project started, so far we've got raised about 50% of this amount.

We've already been approved for a grant through the D.C. Department of Human Services, managed by the Partnership for the Prevention of Homelessness, to operate a transitional home for 10-12 LGBT homeless youth.

Human Rights Campaign (HRC) has announced a donation of $10,000 for this project.
