🌟 Grantee Spotlight: Families Forward Charlotte 🌟

The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is proud to award Families Forward Charlotte a $10,000 Our Village Grant in support of its Family Success Program, a two-year program helping families experiencing poverty build a path toward lasting economic stability.
Through individualized mentorship, educational workshops, and access to critical resources, the program helps families overcome barriers and build the skills and confidence needed for long-term success.
Each family is paired with a trained volunteer Family Liaison who provides one-on-one mentorship and guidance, while workshops focused on financial literacy, parenting, employment readiness, and life skills provide practical tools for the future. Families also receive support to help address barriers such as transportation, childcare, and training costs.
We are proud to support Families Forward Charlotte as they empower families to build greater stability, opportunity, and brighter futures. 💙

The Jack and Jill of America Foundation joins people around the world in mourning the passing and celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of Dolly Parton. 🕊️

Beloved for her music, storytelling, and unmistakable spirit, Dolly’s impact extended far beyond the stage. Her lifelong commitment to philanthropy, education, and early childhood literacy created opportunities for millions of children and families.

Through the Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Dolly transformed her belief in the power of books into a movement that has helped children build home libraries and discover the joy of reading from an early age. By delivering free, high-quality books directly to children’s homes, the Imagination Library has helped make literacy resources more accessible to families and encouraged parents and caregivers to make reading a part of everyday life.

Her commitment to literacy holds special meaning for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. Through our Reading Corner Grant Program, several of our grantees have supported community literacy initiatives connected to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. These programs have helped expand access to books, build home libraries, encourage family reading, and create more opportunities for young children to develop the literacy skills that can shape their futures.

Dolly understood that giving a child a book is about so much more than reading. It is about giving them the opportunity to imagine, learn, dream, and discover a world of possibilities.

We are grateful for the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind and for the ripple effect of her generosity in communities across the country, including those touched through the work of our grantees.

Her voice inspired generations. Her generosity changed lives. And her commitment to young readers will continue opening new worlds for children for generations to come.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. Your legacy will live on in every story shared, every book opened, and every young reader inspired. 🕊️📚

🌟Grantee Spotlight: Xavier University of Louisiana

The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is proud to recognize Xavier University of Louisiana as a 2026–2027 STEM Grantee, receiving a $10,000 grant in support of its STEM Academy.

Designed for rising 6th–8th grade students in New Orleans and surrounding communities, STEM Academy helps young learners strengthen their academic foundations, build confidence, and discover what a future in STEM can look like.

➗ Through Math Foundations, students strengthen essential pre-algebra skills through engaging problem-solving.

🤖 Through hands-on robotics, coding, engineering, and sustainability activities, students put STEM concepts into action while developing teamwork and critical-thinking skills.

🎓 And the learning continues beyond the summer. Students are invited to Xavier’s campus for STEM tutoring throughout the school year, helping them strengthen their skills, prepare for future academic milestones, and begin to picture themselves as college students and future STEM leaders.

By creating a pipeline of STEM learning that begins in middle school, Xavier University of Louisiana is helping students build the skills, confidence, and exposure they need to pursue new possibilities.

We’re proud to support their work and invest in the next generation of innovators! 💙

🔬💗 World Breast Cancer Research Day

Today, the Jack and Jill of America Foundation recognizes World Breast Cancer Research Day and the powerful role that research, STEM education, health awareness, and access to preventive care all play in building healthier futures.

From supporting programs that inspire the next generation of students to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, to funding Health & Wellness initiatives that bring education, screenings, and preventive services directly into communities, the Foundation is committed to creating pathways to healthier, stronger communities.

Among the Foundation-supported programs advancing this work are:

💗 Jack and Jill of America, Inc. – Las Vegas Chapter, which is using its Health & Wellness Chapter Grant to expand Pink Table Talk – Hearts & Health: A Community Wellness Experience. This October, the free community event will bring breast and heart health education to the Historic Westside of Las Vegas, including access to mammogram screenings, medical experts, interactive workshops, and preventive health resources.

🩺 IWC Community Care, a Health & Wellness Agency Grantee, brings comprehensive preventive care directly into underserved communities throughout Southeastern San Diego. Its Community Health & Resource Fairs connect hundreds of families with free health screenings and services, including breast health, heart health, diabetes screenings, mental health support, vaccinations, and more.

These are just a few examples of the programs supported through our broader commitment to health, education, and opportunity.

On World Breast Cancer Research Day, we recognize the scientists and healthcare professionals driving lifesaving discoveries, the community organizations helping expand access to care, and the importance of inspiring young people to see themselves as the researchers, physicians, scientists, and STEM leaders of tomorrow. 💕🔬

✨ We’re proud to spotlight Focused Community Strategies (FCS), a 2026–2027 Our Village grantee and recipient of a $10,000 grant!

Founded in 1978, FCS partners with residents in Historic South Atlanta and Thomasville Heights to cultivate thriving neighborhoods where families can access opportunity, stability, and a strong sense of belonging.

Through its holistic neighborhood development approach, FCS focuses on four interconnected areas: mixed-income housing, economic vitality, neighborhood health and wellness, and cradle-to-career education. From expanding access to safe and affordable housing to supporting local businesses and addressing early learning needs, FCS works alongside residents to build stronger, more connected communities.

With support from the Jack and Jill of America Foundation’s Our Village Grant, FCS will strengthen its efforts to create greater housing stability, economic opportunity, and community connection so families can flourish.

💙 We’re proud to support Focused Community Strategies as they continue creating pathways to opportunity and strengthening communities for generations to come.

🎓 Grantee Spotlight: Club Esteem

This month, we’re proud to spotlight Club Esteem, one of our 2026–2027 College Prep Grant recipients.

Founded in 1991 by Ms. Gladys Williams, Club Esteem was built on a simple but powerful belief: all youth can achieve success with a solid educational foundation and caring adult relationships. What began as a grassroots effort to support young people in one neighborhood has grown into a trusted organization serving youth across five locations, helping students learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

With support from a $5,000 Jack and Jill of America Foundation College Prep Grant, Club Esteem’s College Readiness Program continues to prepare low-income, minority high school students for success in college and beyond. Through one-on-one academic support, leadership development, college exposure, and individualized guidance, the program equips students with the tools and confidence to pursue their educational and career goals.

We’re honored to support organizations like Club Esteem that are creating pathways to higher education and empowering the next generation of leaders.

💙 Join us in celebrating Club Esteem and the incredible impact they’re making in their community.

Building the next generation of STEM leaders, one workshop at a time 🔬🎓
Neighborhood House has received a $9,500 Jack and Jill Foundation STEM Grant for their Youth Development Program, currently serving over 200 kids and teens from elementary through high school.
Running after school 39 weeks a year, plus an all day Dreamers’ Academy each summer, the program gives students weekly hands on science workshops, tutoring, arts programming, and social emotional learning, all in one place.
Led by Mr. Jerald from S.T.E.A.M Lab, a Black science educator who has built real relationships with the kids in this program, these workshops are sparking curiosity and confidence in STEM right now. Partnerships like Healthcare Heroes with the University of Louisville take it even further, giving youth hands on experience in nursing labs and dental schools while meeting professionals who look like them.
People of color remain underrepresented in STEM careers. This program is closing that gap in real time, giving young people the same access, exposure, and encouragement their more affluent peers often get through home or extracurricular opportunities.
With this grant, Neighborhood House will be able to expand workshops, campus visits, and STEM field trips, reaching even more students.
This is what investing in STEM access looks like.
