This past week, APIAVote staff and interns and joined hands in Washington, D.C.'s Chinatown to help our community get ready for Election Day.
From assisting residents at Wah Luck House with mail-in ballots to coordinating rides to the polls, we saw firsthand how barriers like language access and the transition to ranked-choice voting can make participation more complicated. But we also witnessed something powerful: the trust and intergenerational relationships that have been built with elders who continue to call Chinatown home.
Democracy is strongest when everyone can participate.
As primary elections continue across the country, this is your reminder to make a plan to vote, help a friend or family member do the same, and ensure every voice is heard. Every vote counts.
