Know a young burn survivor? Applications for the 2026 Children's Burn Camp are now being accepted!

For one unforgettable week, young burn survivors come together to build confidence, make lifelong friendships, try new adventures, and connect with others who understand their experiences.

📅 July 12–19, 2026

Eligibility:
• Burn survivors ages 8–17 by the start of camp
• Attendance is completely free of charge

Huge thank you to the incredible volunteers from DCFD Recruit Class 414, Cadet Class 28, and firefighter Chris Doty who stepped up in a BIG way at this year’s Night at the Navy Yard Gala. ❤️

This crew showed up ready to work from the minute they walked in the door — jumping in wherever needed, helping guests and vendors, hauling supplies, and somehow always being exactly where we needed them.

They also very politely moved the same cardboard box approximately 47 different times to 12 different locations throughout the night without ever questioning us once. True public servants. 😂📦

We are so grateful for their willingness to volunteer and support the burn survivor community. The future of the fire service is in very good hands. 🔥

What a night. ❤️

Because of this incredible community, the 2026 Night at the Navy Yard Gala raised over $75,000 to support pediatric burn care at Children’s National Hospital and DC Firefighters Burn Foundation burn survivor programs.

From the fireboat demonstration to the dance floor and powerful words from firefighter burn survivor Lionel Crowther, it was an unforgettable evening.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this mission.
